Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

There's a little 1928 Frazer Nash saloon that normally does pretty well at Goodwood, racing against much more exotic machinery of the era.

Thanks - I'll forward it to him!

Still as good as ever for me, the old 5 pot engine the better and could be ‘tweaked’ beautifully, this old codger ran 235bhp and was genuinely nippy.

Cool Bus 👍
Both of mine were 5 pots; a TDI and a TDI
Both were working panel vans so no tweakery permitted, and both ran to over 300,000 miles on original engines. The gearbox self-destructed on one, but was replaced FOC even though it was out of warranty as my dealer
had never seen one break.

I’d run one today if I had parking space. 👌
I’ve bought and sold more than a hundred over the years, and converted plenty. The one above had an IKEA interior. 😎

That was the heyday I think. I nearly got a 2.5 petrol one but ended up with a 2.8 V6 Sharan 4Motion instead (which I ran with all the back seats removed :)). That actually worked out cheaper than a specced up van!

Unfortunately later Transporters weren't so bulletproof with quite a few needing new engines at low mileages (IIRC this issue also affected VAG cars with the same 4 cyl TDi unit). They suffer from all the normal diesel problems now e.g. failed sensors / DPF / EGR / AdBlue etc.

Bet you weren't next to it for long! Woooossshhhh........

We were actually in a traffic jam (normal for the M6 :D) but the lane it was in started moving before I could get a picture  (I was in the passenger seat). There was an immaculate Bentley saloon directly behind it - I assumed they were travelling together.

His and Hers perhaps? 🙂

Could be! The Bugatti had an expensive 1 digit + 3 letters plate too ... something along the lines of '1 GEM' (but not actually that).
Strikes me as a strange world where a number plate like that would cost more than what we mere mortals would consider as a classy car

(Not digging - that person may have worked their way to where they are. Respect)

I see to see the numberplate "A1" in the village I lived in. It was on a totally anonymous Japanese hatchback ... an old Toyota Starlet, IIRC. Just checked online and it's now on a 17 year old Mini, so almost certainly the same owner. That registration is probably worth more than many houses!
