How many of you get fedup going to a 24HR Tesco Petrol Station for some fuel on a Sunday evening only to find the pumps parked with cars by idiots that don’t even buy "fuel" and you have to wait in a queue of cars for ages for those silly people to come out of the garage shop with” bags full of shopping…” ???

Last night it really pi$$ed me off – Never again shall I use Tesco - I normally don’t anyway but needed fuel there and then as reserve light had come on so had no choice.

You're right, those people drive me nuts, the ones that get a couple of items while paying for petrol aren't so bad but the place is usually packed with fools who've missed the supermarket closing time so are doing their weekly shop with basket/trolly, screaming child and everything!

After 11pm my local Tesco doesn't allow anyone in the shop but they can still buy fuel and pay at the counter window, most of the time it's taxi drivers and they pay with folding bits of paper so it's quick. I pay@pump anyway, much quicker and allows for that thrill factor of wondering if you remembered to pay as you leave the forecourt ;)

Blame the shop not the people. I take adavantage of the goods on sale and the extended opening hours. If there was a separate checkout for me to join a longer queue to buy just food then I would - oh there is isn't there.

So your one of this "annoying" people too... :p ;)

I don't find myself having to queue in the supermarket or petrol station .....

'cos the wife does all the shopping on a saturday .....:p

If people park next to the pumps and shop without buying petrol then they should be shot and their cars crushed. If they don't block the pumps up I can buy fuel without problem because I always pay@pump, they can queue out of the door and down the street for all I care ;)

im with you all the way in this but what is also really annoying is... why does does it take so long for people to - pay,get in car,put on seatbelt, turn on car, select gear and leave! this process should not incude fixing make-up, studying maps, having full blown conversation with passengers, rummaging around in handbags that kind of thing all while having filled up already and sat in a filling bay  i do have a home to go to / better places to be than sat waiting for petrol while the drip in front drifts along regardless in their own jolly little world while others are waiting in busy lines! am i alone in this?

Don't mince your words Shude ... say what you mean ......

LOL :D

I have had moderate pleasure, when someone is really dithering at the pumps and can see you waiting and not making any effort to hurry up....

Hopefully (50/50) the space in front of them will become free and then you can park awkwardly and right close to their bumper, hence reversing the situation, they have to wait for you , while you fill your car , scratch your bum, rummage around etc etc ....

Always makes me feel better .....especially if you can give them a 'glance' too now and then

If you go to the supermarket, to buy some beer, and the person in front of you in the queue at the checkout is only buying bread, do you get ****y because he's in your way?

What's the difference between you arriving at the petrol station to find the pumps are all occupied by people filling up, and arriving to find the pumps are all occupied by people paying for stuff in the kiosk? You still have to wait for a bit!

If the petrol station chooses to sell things other than petrol, why shouldn't people buy them? It's not their fault the forecourt has no other parking!

Bear in mind, if they didn't sell groceries as well a fuel, then very soon, the petrol station wouldn't be there at all, and then you 'd have to drive even further to sit in a queue!

Blimey. Chill out!

Unlikely, we're talking about Tesco here! As I already said ASDA for example have no kiosk or staff at all, just pumps, so they can obviously survive without the additional trade.

Fair enough.

I own an E320 coupe. It does 18mpg. I can't afford anything other than fuel. ;)

PJ, how the hell does it do 18 mpg ?

our CLK430 is better than that by miles ...... does it need a tune up ? ;)

I know! . In the car's defence though, I mainly drive it around town.

On a run, it'll do mid-high twenties, but the 'urban cycle' is where it spends the week :(

No, it doesn't need a tune up (I hope), but it's going into Andy Gayle for it's 90,000 service in the next couple of weeks (and it's only on 72,000 :D )

I'll let you know if there's a significant improvement after that.
