Annoying People at Tesco Petrol Stations...

mercedes1 said:
why are you complaining guys?Surely fuel should not be an issue for us Merc owners!

I use it for there Rocket Fuel.

Road rage, now till rage? What next hand bags at dawn?

Still this is the road rage section so till rage should be well at home here.

To me this is all light relieve. I wonder how many people working in dangerous enviroments would love to be standing around in a nice 'relaxed' atmosphere simply waiting to pay for their fuel?

When you are next in this situation instead of allowing yourselves to get all worked up over someone buying something that you believe they have no right to have, just look around, there must surely be something to at least divert your anger? Try not being politically corrrect and find funny faults with other folks that are making you angry (I mean this in a funny, humorous way) In your mind put a dress on a bloke or whatever makes you smile.

Bring back National Service I say, lets make real men of our men!!!

What gets me is when youre in the queue and someone fills up at a card pay pump, and then goes into the shop to pay with a (youve guessed it) card

Clubcard points my friend, clubcard points. Not available at pay at the pump.

Yes they are! I have over 1000 points per quarter courtesy of pay@pump! Insert the clubcard first, then the payment card :D

Hmm. I must be thinking back a bit then!

The only thing you can't do at p@p is use any vouchers, including the 5p/litre discount vouchers.

Ahh, now maybe that's what I'm thinking of.

Mr Fox goes into the Tesco Shop to pay for his petrol.

There are dozens of Barry boys all queueing to pay for their Foxes Glacier mints:o Not one of these hound-dogs has bought any petrol.

Should Mr Fox let the red mist take charge and give vent to his rage, or should he very quietly stand in the queue and wait his turn?

Think about it very carefully before you decide. This might be the last decision you ever have to make.

Whose afraid of the big bad wolf?
The big bad wolf?

See next post for a picture of the queue.

Sorry for breaching forum rules but pasting the picture in the same message simply didn't work.

Everyone buying their fuel at Tesco? I thought Merc drivers would be buying Optimax, not cheap supermarket fuel. :p

It could be worse, i had someone reverse into me in a tesco express with a filling station just before christmas and ****ed the insert on my w124. This happened because the carpark area was stuffed full of people nipping in for groceries, and it was at a time when the supermarkets were still open!

The offical figures for the E320 saloon (I don't have coupe numbers to hand) are:

Urban 19.19 mpg (CLK = 17-ish)
56mph 34.48 mpg (CLK = 33-ish - 'extra urban')
75mph 28.25 mpg (CLK = 24-ish - 'combined')

I'm certainly less than 7% out on these numbers, and so I'm happy.

In fact, the two sets of stats appear to be really closely matched, so I guess it's down to the kind of driving the car does.

Tell you what Howard, what say I borrow the CLK for, ooh, a month or two, and see what consumption figures I get out of it?

Mines got the 4speed box,
Around town i get about 20MGP, on a run around 26.

Our Tesco does the 99oct stuff, and very good it is too, the 75 V6 and the SL love it. The C250 runs on anything short of Mazola, so frankly I don't care what that gets filled up with.

unfortunately Tesco has deemed people in the North not worthy of the 99 ron stuff - I have yet to see it up here :(

As a partial update to this, on Sunday, I did a high speed run to the chunnel, and then from Calais into Belgium (average speed on continent = 93mph)

MPG for a tank (including some mucking about in Birmingham) = 23.6

I'm happy!

I shall be doing this on Monday in the 430 with Dad, booked on Eurostar for 9.00am , quick run up to Oostende for lunch and a look round the port , then back to Calais (Cite Europe) to buy some booze then back in the evening ....

I'm heading home again from Germany in the morning. I expect my MPG to improve still further, because this tank is currently a little over half full, and it's done 215 miles already! (could be 32mpg  )

I'd be interested to hear what the CLK430 does Howard, in the light of our earlier conversation...

I'll keep my beadies on it and report back, bear in mind it will be full of beer and wine on the return journey , so might lower it a bit ..

If its any help i did a run to Cornwall in it last year and returned 27.4 mpg on the return journey (2 up) , i suppose the thing is its a reasonably powerful engine in a smallish car , so its not really straining to lug it around ...

Will let you know ...

29.93MPG !! :bannana:
