Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

Good spot.....I remember quite liking those when new....never driven one though. Sales disaster though.....with less that 25,000 sold globally!! They were over 30K new in 1991....about the same as an Audi UR 20v Quattro.....and you can buy one for under 3 grand now.......whereas with the Audi you wont get much change from 40k....so the SVX was not quite such a good investment!!!

Spotted, Mercedes that tried to go through the flood by my house, and failed........
Still there with hazards on several hours later.
Did put a link to the video but it doesn't work now, so removed

I didn't think 25000 was that bad a number. Of my 3 litre GTV there were less than 6500, including those made by Pininfarina!

I had a friend who had an SVX - it was a handsome thing though i remember it had quite small wheels. But quirky, also inside.

But include all variants of 916 GTV and around 39,000 Spiders and 41,700 GTVs were built. So even little AFLA sold over three times as many GTV as Subaru did SVX!

Yes, true i guess. Though there is really only one GTV worth having in my mind! That being the Arese built shorter stroke 3.0 Busso!

On a mineral exploration project in Saudi Arabia 1970s had 2 425 Unimog SWB version.
Very comfortable go anywhere and used it instead of my company Land Cruiser
The front was fitted with red painted winch with 100ft 1/2 inch rope and a Hiab crane behind cab.
Even the kamikaze truck divers in Jeddah kept their distance

Today I saw two Ferrari 296 GTB at petrol pumps, side by side, one black and one red. What I saw a few minutes later puts them in the shade though.

The latest W214 E-Class. Can’t remember seeing one on the road.

That’s not the interesting bit though. It had been converted into a hearse for funerals. But there’s more, it wasn’t even black, it was Selenite Grey! Rarer than a rare thing!

Nice way to go to your final destination, s'pose. 🙄🙂

Ooh was it one of these:

Personally, I'd prefer to go in the Bentley, but as I'll not even be a spectator - who cares?? My wishes are actually KISS, keeps the costs low so there's more to spend in the pub afterwards, but unfortunately my wife and daughter will decide, so I have to make sure there's plenty available immediately for whatever holy show they want to put on - and as wife is Irish Catholic, it won't be cheap!!

Before my Father in law passed away we did a practice run of what he wanted as he didn’t want to miss out! So a nice pub lunch in Sandwich with the family, walk along the cliff top at Folkestone to practice some ash scattering. It was actually a lovely day and everyone saw the funny side of it. Especially when people in the pub asked what we were celebrating! In hindsight maybe we should have arranged a ride in the hearse as well to top it off! It was an E class.
