W124 E320 Twin Turbo Re-spray+ Body kit progress...

Jay...Prepping the car took about 3 days, bodykit installation took about 2 days, spraying took 2 days, and now the final touches ( seals, badges, wipers, etc) taking about a day...so all in all, theres been 7 days worth of work done on the car,but its been at my mechanic for about 2-3 weeks now! in my opinion,it wasnt quick actually! However,i think they done a good job, and they always kept me updated and involved me in the work,so im happy...i hope yours works out just as good, you just have to be on top of them as you are a paying customer,so they shouldn't leave your car last priority, without rushing it ofcourse...

GFP, no serious issues, just having problem with fog lights, but bumper looks good anyway so i might not fit them on just yet. Now im going to stage 2,mechanical and electrical.
Sunroof needs fixing, interior lights, turbos reconditioned, air filter repositioned, full service, alloys refurbed and correct spacers fitted, H&R suspension kit fitted, new exhaust system as well. should be ready for summer, will post some pics up tomorrow if its a nice day and its polished.

Can I ask what kind of money this has cost you so far? I have no idea how much bodyshops charge. Whats it cost for the kit, the prep, the installation and the sparaying? I'm tempted to do something like this to one of my cars.

looks lovely mate.well done

IMD, the bodyshop did me a favor so their price was cheap for me...bodykit cost 840, and the whole fitting, prepping, and spraying of the car cost me £1200...but i reckon add a couple of more hundreds to that to get their real price.

Now I never quotes like this.....My SEC was going to be the thick end of £5000 for a full strip down, repaint, bodykit fitting and reassembly. I was supplying everything new with fitting kits...including every piece of chrome on the outside of the body....

mudster, i wouldn't go as far as 5k, thats a bit too much, i would say 2k for the paintjob,1k for bodykit,so 3k. but it cost me just little bit more than 2k...so i guess i got away with it lightly:)

I would also say 5k is a bit much... I got quoted £2000 to get the E500 resprayed, and thats a proper job. Ive seen his work before as he has worked on a few of our cars and its the best place that i know personally.

thanks guys

I received the car today, still needs some more minor touch ups but its better to keep it at mine than the garage. They washed it and polished it,but i'll still take it to my car wash guys for a full vallet, they do it really good. On the way back, had a flat tyre so pulled over, and thought i'll take few pics for now:) I love the Wald kit, enjoy!

That is looking gorgeous

Well worth the money if it looks as good close up as it does in the pictures

It looks just as good close up, they done a good job considering the time it took, and the money i paid. i love it!

Looks good and shiny.. looking forward to hearing about the oily bits.

Nice .

Any plans to lower it ? Looks awfully high on the rear ....

Looks vvv cool, well done!

Howard, I have already purchased the H&R cup kit,30mm lowering, but as NW merc said, even the way it is,it was scraping the hump, so we'll see. my first priority at the moment is the turbos now, exhaust system and the full service.
