W124 E320 Twin Turbo Re-spray+ Body kit progress...

Hi

thanks, thats exactly what i was looking for, i didnt take it for a wash just yet, because i can see small swirls, which i really dont like already...so this pro detailer,350,how long does it last?

Hi,

Costs will vary quite a bit according to who you go to, where you are in the country and and what needs to be done. There are quite a few detailers on detailing world, they also have examples of their work in the Showroom section of the forum. £350 is a typical price for paintwork correction and full detail.

Once paintwork is corrected, it's then quite a bit cheaper for maintenance, which you can do yourself if you wish. You shouldn't need to have a full detail more than once a year if you keep up with the maintenance.

You could do the work yourself, though you need to spend quite a bit to get the materials and some time to learn the techniques. Detailing is quite a deep subject and it can take quite a while and alot of effort to detail a car to the same level as the pros.

I would recommend getting paintwork correction and the paint sealed initially to protect the new paintwork and then doing the maintenance yourself.

The main point I wanted to get across is that the "hand car wash" guys are best avoided to protect your shiny new paint on your much loved car!

Cheers,

Vent

i will never take my car to the polish and their ilk again

i sat in my car last time they did it and a few hours later when i got home i found a 1" chunk missing from the top of the arch in my wheel arch where they had probably used the pressure washed to hard and taken the paint away and the stuff under that as my wings have the odd patch of filled areas as i had them short term fixed 3 years ago

thats why i need 2 new wings, looks like im going to have to get patent ones though as i cant find merc ones that are not a few billion quids

replacement wings

if u dont use oem merc parts for joke money from your main dealer, may i suggest hadrian perfectpanels.co.uk . insurance firms use these and they fit unlike the cheapies found at ECP GSF. cost is under £100 per wing.
