Nice rendering. Let me guess you don't like it? ;)

I don't know. My hunch tells me I will. The design exterior of the smaller c class has been good. Even in current when it frat cane out. hate the sports grill in all instances. Just the interior really really sucks across the c class

looks dreadful until it is launched then we will all love it :)

An interesting article concerning the 2014 C class destined for the USA market. http://www.autonews.com/apps/pbcs.d...ies&cciid=email-autonews-weekly#axzz2QWmzCnJO
Saloon and Coupe versions for the US market + a possible Convertible later also , but no Estate version.
this also caught my eye:-

For the first time, the C class will be powered by an engine built in the United States. Parent company Daimler and Nissan will produce four-cylinder Mercedes-Benz engines jointly at Nissan's plant in Dechard, Tenn., starting in 2014.
Cannon said only the 2.0-liter turbocharged variant will be used in the C class for the United States.

205 C class in Car Magazine

Not had a chance to read it properly yet but sounds impressive from the quick skim I had of the it. Aluminium roof and doors, 9 speed gearbox (though 7G initially).

No V6 diesel though :dk:

But there is a C400 V6 petrol.

If the US market isn't getting the V6 petrol, who is?

I read the Car article as saying UK would get the C400. It doesn't specifically mention which countries will get it though.

I may have misled people with the "turbocharged 4 for the US market" that doesn't exclude any V6 engined cars in their lineup --- just that the 4 would be turboed as ---it has to be said are all the 4 cylinder UK W204 petrols at present. If present form is anything to go by--- the UK will be lucky to get a cooking V6 version of the W205 :(

On the plus side this will help me convince the Mrs that we need an AMG next

They have messed with the front I think, the C-Class a year or so back was a very attractive design, pretty much the best looking in the line up AFAIC, if they could only do that front on this Cab it would be nice but I think the front on this is the very latest facelift C. ??

Still, what a neat looking car.

Any news on the new S-Cab killer.....?

Are they putting a dead body in the car in the last pic? ;-)

Also if they do the stick on iPad type nav screen in the W205 I will not be buying one. Looks sh1t in the A class.

The exact two comments I was going to make. I'm really not a fan of the iPad style screens. They look like an afterthought. :(

One of the reasons I did not buy the CLA was because of the screen, which I also agree looks like an aftermarket extra.

All in all, this W205 does not look like a car IMHO that has taken 4-5 years to develop....to me it looks like a facelift of the current facelift model

My local dealer advised me very recently that the W205 is still some 9-12 months away from appearing in UK showrooms

,, and I can't helped but keep thinking that one of these days, some hooligan/vandal would smash the glass and rip it out for fun!!

i like the rear profile, hoping for a proper grill to the front (but doubt it)
and the interior is hopeless, but i am liking it a little..

and the new GLA... nice!
